Title: Retrospects and Prospects at the 20th Anniversary of China’s Accession to the WTO

Abstract: The year 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of China’s accession to the WTO. In the past 20 years, China has thoroughly and practically fulfilled its accession commitments and abided by WTO rules. Its ability to embrace challenges and opportunities has enhanced its progress and enabled it to grow into a developing power and core WTO Member. Currently, the domestic and international environment confronting China is drastically changing, and the WTO multilateral trading system is facing a crisis. In the future, China must face and value its shifting identity along with its role in the WTO so it can maintain authentic multilateralism.
